September Bullet Journal Set Up

If you hang around Instagram, you may have noticed that I have started to use a bullet journal again. I tried to go digital, but there is just something about putting pen to paper that I really missed.

Like a lot of you, fall is my favorite time of year, so I thought it would be neat to share with you how I set up my bullet journal for this month. If all goes well, we may make this an every month blog post!

I usually try to change up my themes every month so I am not looking at the same thing all the time. This month, I went with a leaf theme with some of my favorite fall colors.

I have recently switched from dailies to weeklies, and it has saved me a lot of time setting up every month. I used to track everything from what books I read, my daily intake of calories and my writing goals. I came to the conclusion that I didn’t need to go that in depth, so last month I made the switch. I can honestly say I love being able to see my week in front of me and have no plans on going back!

I created my cover page on Procreate first, to see if I would like it, and then transferred that idea to my bullet journal. I loved how the different leaf doodles came out! I added a goal section on my next page. This month I am focusing on setting up my Etsy, creating better health habits, and starting my children’s book. Not too much right??

Something that is also new for me this month is my use of dutch doors. If you don’t know what this is, it is just your bullet journal cut in half, so you can add additional information to your weekly spread. I used this process to create a list of what I am going to post on social media, a section for quick notes, and my writing goals for the week. I really love how this came out, even though I was a little bit nervous at first cutting into my journal!

I set up my weeklies with boxes for Monday through Sunday, with a cute little box on the bottom left that mirrors my cover page, just with the weeks date added. I have learned throughout my bullet journal journey that for me, less is more. If I don’t take up a lot of my time decorating my journal, I will use it more.

My last spread that I added for this month is a gratitude log and a handwriting page. I have my everyday handwriting, it looks like a toddler most of the time. I decided last month to try a handwriting challenge, and I was really happy with how it turned out, so I decided to do it again. I have struggled in the past with keeping a gratitude log, so I have high hopes that this month I can change that!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I set up my September bullet journal. Follow me on Instagram to check out more sneak peaks.
