For my birthday last month I was gifted a subscription to Sketchbox. If you don’t know what Sketchbox is, it is a monthly box of art supplies that get shipped to your house. How cool is that?
This was the perfect gift for me, and I have my amazing big sister to thank for it. I was so excited for June to come around so I could get my box! I would check the mail every day until finally my box came!
What I really love about Sketchbox is that they pick an artist each month to showcase. This month was a watercolor artist by the name of Gris, so you know I was right on board with this one! The box comes with little cards explaining the artist and a sample of their work, and a break down of everything you get in the box.
This month’s box included:
4 Koi watercolor in: deep green, burnt sienna, pale orange and deep yellow
1 Winsor and Newton Pigment - Grey
Kuretake Zig H2O Brush - Detailer
KingArt Inkline Pen - Black 8mm
3x6 Ampersand Aquaboard

I was most excited about the Koi watercolors. They came in a great palette, and were so vibrant that it was really easy to create something fun with them. Of course, I painted leaves! Surprise! I couldn’t help myself really, the colors just screamed foliage to me.
I cannot wait to see what is in next month’s box.
Stay tuned!!
