DIY Wood Slice Ornaments

Happy Holidays!

I was walking down the the aisles at the craft store the other day and saw the most adorable ornaments. They were made of wood slices and twine. Instead of spending a ton of money on them, I figured that I could just make them myself!

All you will need is:

  • Wood Slices

  • Acrylic Paint

  • Paint Brushes

  • White Paint Pen

  • Twine (or string)

First, you need to paint the base on the wood slice. I used black, but any color would work here. Make sure you let the base coat dry, you don’t want any smudging!

Next, you need to decide what you want to write on the ornament. Once you have that figured out, simply use the paint pen to write on the wood slice.

Again make sure to let this layer dry. After it has dried, you can add little decorative touches to the wood slices. I added some winter foliage, holly branches, and a simple checkered design.

You will then want to drill a hole into the top of the ornament and add the twine!

Wasn’t that simple? I hope you enjoyed this little DIY project for the holidays.
