It’s that time again to see what was in August’s sketchbox!
I was very excited to see the artwork of Erin Ewer in this month’s box. When I first opened the box I saw a picture of an owl and immediately got excited. If you don’t know this about me, I love owls, something I got from my amazing grandmother. Check out her Instagram @LiquidFaeStudios to see her gorgeous illustrations, you won’t be disappointed!
This month’s box contained::
Speedball acrylic ink - silver, black and white
Silver brush crystal bright - size 4
General pencil - white
Marvy uchida color water brush - fine
Strathmore 4x6” mixed media tone blue
I love how these boxes are giving me mediums that I have never used before. I have wanted to try my hand at dip calligraphy pens but have never gotten around to purchasing some. With the ink I received, I felt like it was finally time! I got a very inexpensive set of calligraphy pens off of amazon to try out these inks. I decided to use the paper include to do a little tribute to fall, which I am so thankful is almost here! I was really impressed by the paint brush I got as well. It was small enough for the small details I wanted to achieve with the different leaves, but was still a great quality. I also really loved the blue tint to the paper, I think it really went well with the monochromatic colors that were present in the box.

Since the subscription was a gift, this was the last month that I will be getting a box. I haven’t decided if I want to continue or not. I have had a lot of fun this summer learning new mediums and creating new projects! I hope you have all enjoyed my reviews and check out my Instagram and Facebook pages for some new things coming up for the fall!
